Hi,

I've been researching Galaxys for some time and have finally come to the conclusion (I think lol) that I want a diesel Ghia model. What I can't seem to find anywhere on the internet, in simple terms, is what the differences are between the MK1 and the MK2. Can anyone please tell me? I mean I know they look different on the outside - lights etc, but please could someone tell me the differences in terms of spec? I would be very grateful :-)

I'm on a bit of a tight budget and am struggling to find a MK2 so am thinking I might have to settle for a MK1 - would I be severely missing out??

Thank you.

The differences between the Mk1 & Mk2 are negligible.

It was just a facelift and slightly modified Tdi engine....debatable whether it was much better.

Everything else mechanically is pretty much the same.

Also consider the Seat Alhambra and VW Sharan which are exactly the same vehicle with the same body and Tdi engines and just some minor cosmetic differences.

Thanks for the reply :-)

What about the interior though? Are there many differences there? Someone told me the airbags were much improved on the MK2 - is that true? I'm a bit of an interior/gadget freak to be honest lol - more concerned with that than what a car looks like on the outside.

Are the Alhambra and the Sharan the same inside? I've never been in one of those.

Thank you. Yes, I'm going to see a MK1 today so I'll have a drive and see what it's like.

This is the bottom line I think with the money I've got to spend - I can either have a high mileage early MK2 or a lower mileage MK1. I can't really go over about
